I'm taking a composition class this semester at college and I just finished my first (real) composition! I'm so excited! It's a relatively short and simple piece, but it took a lot of effort so I really understand what composers and musicians go through to write what we hear every day.

And my professor is happy with it, so I've confirmed that Composition is where I should take my university studies. I'd been nervous for some time that even though I want to compose, that I wouldn't have the talent or creativity for it, but that isn't an issue at all.

One step closer to my dreams coming true.

Triumph! Music Comp: sounds exciting as well as MYSTERIOUS.

I used to know how to read music ( also used to know how to play the alto-sax) but I was but a wee babe at the time, and have totally fogetten now! @.@ The art of the piano and the other instruments remains a mystery to me!

I had a guitar once. I was gonna learn how to play and be a GUITAR HERO...then my older sibling stole it and pawned it for drug money! True story. x.x

I like singing just swimingly though. I dont think I'm extrodinarily good, but it certainly calms the nervs (especially if you happen to be in traffic...)@,@

Congratulations. It will be frustrating and exhilarating. Take it all in. Don't be afraid of trying new things. My first "real" composition was a trio for piano and two cellos. You'll never see it pop up in a program anywhere, but I still quote bits and pieces of it now when I play (30 years later).
